In order to make 12 servings of egg nog, you’ll need six large eggs, one-fourth cup of sugar, one-fourth teaspoon of salt, four cups of whole milk (divided), a teaspoon of vanilla, and a dozen cinnamon sticks for each of the servings.

First, beat the eggs in a large saucepan with sugar and salt until the mixture is blended well. Add 2 cups of milk and stir. Cook the mixture in low heat. Stir gently the whole time. Do this until the mixture is thick enough to coat a metal spoon with a thin film. Do this for 15 minutes. Don’t let it boil. After the mixture is thick enough, remove it from the heat immediately. Add two more cups of milk and vanilla and stir.

Put in the fridge and wait for a few hours.

Before you serve the egg nog to your guests, feel free to add in a bit of brandy, liqueur, rum, or bourbon. Aside from the cinnamon sticks, whipped cream and candy canes are also fun garnishes to include.
